Gold and Silver Axes: More Haiku by Nogi Touka (野木桃花)

In the lake
Axes of gold and silver
Frozen over

A small art gallery
In Motomachi
Spring snow

My right brain
Drowsily drowsily drifts
A spring cold

Airing out
All the futons in the house
I watch the ocean

It is the time when
winter camellias unravel
in the sunlight

Nogi Touka was born in 1946. Her books include 「君は海を見たか」 (Have You Seen the Sea?), 「夏蝶」 (Summer Butterfly), and 「野木桃花の世界」 (The World of Nogi Touka).
