I think of my sister a camellia falling in twilight

a sunflower standing tall

Samon Yamamoto (b. 1950) won the 17th Gendai Haiku Association New Face Award in 1999. Inspired by the haiku of Shuji Terayama, he started composing his own around the age of 30.
